With courage and cunning Jade Donovan has survived alone in a rugged new land though her dance hall career has earned her an undeserved reputation as a fallen woman But now as she travels to Oregon in disreputable company the stunning Irish songbird A story of the ladies from the brothel who decide to relocate their business to California so they buy a wagon and set off down the Oregon trail And wouldn't you just know they're right behind the widower preacher with his wagonload of orphans I liked this book mainly for the hero's older brother tho his PTSD could have been handled to better effect and the stories of each woman from the brothel and the individual orphans from the preacher's wagon What makes this book special though is the detail of life and landmarks along the Trail and the time period the book is set in I have lived in a town that literally straddles the Oregon Trail and I read a lot of history and as far as I can tell she got it all right

IrresistibleOth Matt is still a man and tantalized by the blistering sensuality of a sultry flame haired vixen with emerald eyes She opens his heart awakening his need with her tender reckless spirit And he will risk hellfire itself to taste heaven in Jade's ki Spoilers sweetieIt was a good book but I didn't like how Jade just gave up her dreams because a man told her he wanted her to be his wife and a mother instead It was akin to him saying your dreams of being a famous singer are stupid I'm going to relentlessly badger you until you do what I want Oh and how bout I sneak in some religion when you're not looking? Oddly enough for a book with a preacher as the main character the sex scenes were pretty steamy and imaginative I also liked the description of life on the Oregon trail as it reminded me of the game I used to play Everything that happened was pretty predictable but I did enjoy it However this book won't stay on my shelf It's not one I would re read
