David is about to marry and settle down to a prosperous future with a woman whose DNA probably matches his own But a declaration of love that he fails to deal wit. It is not a bad story and the author's writing strives to be articulate insightful and smart but with sporadic errors in grammar and spelling and the lengthy detail in spots I was distracted from what I wanted to be a really great book I identify a few moments when I was touched emotionally by David and Mark's courtship then relationship but I wanted character development labeling of boundaries of the two to help me understand why they made the choices they did with each other I'm left with unanswered uestions I agree with with another comment about David being shallow and selfish and I think he had a narcissistic injury when he didn't get what he wanted The book seemed to end conveniently I am on the fence whether to recommend this book

Its You author D. BunyH both emotionally and professionally catapults him into a spiral of deceit and declineThe opinions of an ambitious headmaster a best friend jealous lovers errant. Elouently and sensitively written this book tells the story of forbidden love and its inevitable reprisals and recriminations I was struck from the very first page by the richness and depth of the writing I thought the dialogue between the characters was completely true to life and I loved how the author explored the conflict within David the main character as he battled with his developing feelings for his young student Although the book addresses romantic love between two men and perhaps to the point romantic love between a teacher and pupil I think this novel would resonate with anyone torn between head and heart whatever the circumstances We live in a world of ‘shoulds’ and ‘should nots’ and woe betide anyone who dares to rebel and chooses to go against the normTo summarise I think the subject matter is bold brave and compelling from the outset I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves a good old fashioned page turner It is one of those books that you are almost disappointed to finish It’s well written descriptive and luxuriously emotive Definitely an author to watch out for in the future
