It has been so long since I have fallen into the pages of a book and disappeared into so engrossing a story like I did with Julia Gabriel’s This Reminds me of Us The author’s faultless flowing writing strikes the perfect balance between introspection dialogue and scene setting I was utterly astounded at how present and visible these characters were to me The characters were right in front of my eyes as I flicked the pages on my Kindle Somebody give this author a whole bunch of awards please This is a beautifully told story of a young family in crisis of young love put to the test Serena Wolfe wakes up from a coma unable to remember the last seven years of her life She does remember her husband Oliver but her children and all of the friends she made in the town of St Caroline are a mystery to herThis story was “action packed” – such a small coastal town attracts all kinds of calamities that Firefighter Oliver Wolfe must deal with while at the same time fighting his fears that his wife has changed and grown distant since waking up from the accident that almost claimed her life I was rooting for this couple and their two lovable sons right down to the last chapter Mason and Cameron are such hilarious cuties For once in my life I am GLAD this is a series because I can’t seem to get enough of the Wolfe and Trevor families and the small town of St Caroline You will laugh you will groan – Oliver needs to accept change and loosen up a bit – and you will definitely shed a tear or two as you read this book All of your emotions and senses will be fully engaged as you walk into the drama that is Serena and Oliver’s life in this heartwarming story This is a standalone novel in the St Caroline series I give this a 10 out of 5 stars and a standing ovation I was downright entertainedMy thanks to the author publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

E and family and friends in his hometown of St Caroline Maryland until the day he has to stand by helplessly and watch his wife’s unconscious body get cut from the mangled wreckage of her carSerena Wolfe was a blissfully happy newlywed with a tall dark and handsome firefighter for a husband and a honey. I did not know what I was expecting when I first started reading this book but I know by the time I ended I was having warm fuzzies This was that kind of book for me Not the best warm fuzzies but the kind that was glad that all the misunderstandings were figured out Hell there were a lot The whole context of the book was nice I will admit it was the blurb that totally attracted me but the somewhere in the middle I just got really really mad at Oliver I just wished he would stop accusing of wife of things he was not sure of even She was recovering and his accusations were not helping the situation was not helping at all At times I felt that their Older son was mature than himThe only problem I had was the whole grandmother's voice thing I suddenly for a second thought I picked up a Christian book also when it came up not to be prejudiced That kinda overthrew me Other than that story managed to nicely flow whilst faltering a little in the middle

READ This Reminds Me of Us

This Reminds Me of UsMoon baby on the way until the day she wakes up from a coma to discover that she’s actually thirty years old and has two adorable if rambunctious boys a house and friends none of which she can rememberThat’s alarming enough But Serena might have had a secret former life which she also can’t remembe. My heart went out to both Serena and Oliver in this story Both suffering life altering instances her accident which left her in a coma for months affected Oliver and Serena tremendously and him losing his mom during this same time My heart broke when reading that news Oliver was making me crazy at times with his thoughts and the things he would say to Serena He could be so sweet sexy and protective but then turn around and be doubtful and hurtful But Serena is amazing She stood up for herself tried new things reunited with her family and fell in love with her boys all over again Her boys were so patient and loving they were a great part of this story And the special visitor throughout the book was heartwarming because it makes me feel like my loved ones are with me tooI received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley
