Lady Amelia Plume finds the ballrooms of Mayfair light on exotic adventure until the arrival of Major Lucas Winter an Ameri I don't know what to say about Never Seduce a Scoundrel Sigh Wrong well that's probably the right word to describe it This book just seemed wrong to me I didn't like Amelia and Lucas at all Amelia was too reckless and too stupid for her own good She didn't have a sensible bone in her body even though she was supposed to be intelligent Her curiosity and desire for adventure bordered on stupidity and I positively cringed every time she took unnecessary risks with her reputation Egad did she even have a brain in that pretty little head of hers? For example why would she offer to deliver Sarah's letter when she could ruin herself doing so? God she hated the odious woman And Lucas was such a flat character I didn't find him funny or witty or charming He was just a boreWhile I applaud this book for its blush worthy love scenes I wasn't convinced that Amelia and Lucas' relationship constituted a happily ever after It was built on lust and lacked a stronger foundation And well I couldn't really bring myself to care I just wanted to be done with this book so that I could move on with my life

Never Seduce a ScoundrelCan with a dark past and a dangerous air Lucas is bash arrogant and scandalously tempting Every thrilling kiss sparks hotte In Never Seduce a Scoundrel Lady Amelia Plume is in her second season with no prospects in sight And she rather likes it that way As a graduate of the well known 'School for Heiresses' as it's called she's well aware of what many fortune hunting gentlemen are really after so she's hesitant to marry But in comes walking American soldier Major Lucas Winter They are suddenly alone together by accident while Amelia is delivering a note on a dare She's come across some papers in Major Winter's room that suggest that he's actually in England to investigate Amelia's stepmother Their lives get further entangled as Amelia pretends to be a brainless English flower to entice Major Winters into revealing his intent But Major Winters knows who Amelia is and pretends to seduce her as well hoping she'll spill information to him But desire is a funny thing as their pretend attractions bloom into something real I would really say this book was of a 35 star rating There are definitely some good things in this book I thought it was nice in that a lot of history was put into the book and the dialogue I felt like I actually learned a little bit while reading this book The characters aren't two dimensional and Amelia came across as intelligent if not a bit silly at times about her love of adventure The plot even had a little bit of mystery and substance to it But on the other hand as much as the book is well written I just didn't totally love it It kept me interested but I also felt like there wasn't anything about it that really stuck with me either Anyways in the end it's a pretty good romance novel It's writing and interesting plot gives it an edge over other romance novels I've read and I'd probably read by the author So in the end I rounded up the rating to a 4 but it definitely could have been a little better
